Zoo day!!!

Avery and I went to the zoo today with some of our friends. We had a good time, in spite of the HEAT!!! Avery loved the choo-choo, she is still talking about it.

Puppies!!!!!

Harley had her third (and hopefullylast!) set of puppies Thursday nite. She had 6 boys and one girl.



Avery LOVES the puppies, and she also loves their kennel and helping to keep Harley fed and watered.

Cool!

Avery's newest thing is putting on glasses and saying "I cool!" I guess it started one day last week when she put on my glasses and I said "wow, you are cool." She said "coooool...." This child never forgets anything, so now she puts on my sunglasses, Daddy's sunglasses, and her real glasses and says "cool!" She also tries to put them on her head like Mommy. Such a little sponge!!!

Best Friends

These are my roomies. Yes, I still call them that, although we haven't lived together in 7 years. Lori, Nicole, Mary Jo and I met in 1996 when we were all in the same Phi Mu pledge class. We have been inseperable ever since. These girls are my best friends in the world. Why am I writing about them today? Well, Nicole just had a baby boy, Evan!!! And as fate would have it, it is also Lori's birthday. Mj and I can just bask in their fun today. We girls have been through it all: yearly beach trips, girls' weekends, inside jokes, and unforgettable laughs. We have been in each others' weddings and given each other baby showers. We have also had rough times- seen each other through illnesses, bad jobs, and even deaths. Tonite though, we celebrate another birth into our little "family." Even though we still don't all live in the same city, I know I can count on them forever!!! Love you guys!!

Happy Anniversary to us!

This weekend, Nick and I went to Atlanta to celebrate our 5 year anniversary (a little late). We've been together 12 years this month, but whose counting!?! Thanks to Nana and Papa, my wonderful in-laws for keeping Avery. I missed her terribly but we did have a fun time! We stayed at the Marriot Marquis which was Fabulous!! Friday nite we had sushi(don't worry, I had the california roll) and met up with our good friends, Blue and Rachel. Saturday, we played at Dave and Busters during the day(I beat Nick at air hockey but he outscored me in basketball, like 100-1 !) We went to the Braves game that nite. They beat the Cardinals 14-6 and we were part of the record crowd! Fun times...except the marta (nasty!) and my swollen feet. Nick said I looked like a hobbit. Ah, the joys of pregnancy!!! On Sunday we went to the Georgia Aquarium which was awesome! A wonderful weekend...we even came home to a clean house and a mowed lawn!! Can't beat that!!

Bye Bye pool

I hate to say it, but it sure was nice to sleep "in" (although it was 8:15) this morning. Avery finished her swim lessons yesterday. After two weeks of mommy and me classes, she has definitely learned to kick. She lays in the floor on her back or on her tummy in the bathtub (as seen above) and says "kick!" "kick!" She loved lessons except when Ms. Kimberly tried to make her do things with her, not me. Avery got mad and Ms. Kimberly said, "I know I am not your Mommy but we are just going down here to touch the rope and we will go right back to Mommy." SO then Avery yells everytime Kimberly gets her..."Not my mommy! Not my mommy!" I guess I will never have to worry about her getting kidnapped... Everyday when we would leave Avery says "Bye Bye pool!" She really is a little fish so we will keep up our lessons in the bath and in the kiddie pool till next year!

Avery's newest thing is trying to dress herself. Of course, it is much more fun to wear Mommy's clothes (or shoes, or makeup, or jewelry...). As I prepare for a little boy, I treasure these moments with my little girl!!!

Making up for lost time...

Ok, so everyone knows I am NO homebody. I like to go- go- go . (And Avery is just like me!) BUT, this weekend was the first we have all been home since before memorial day. I must say I enjoyed it :) It was nice to hang out in Birmingham and spend some Family time together. We started out the weekend with a dinner at PF Changs (thanks Todd!). Nick wanted to go see a movie afterward, which I am always weary of with Avery...I am always scared we will be the couple with the kid that ruins the movie for everyone, but of course, she was fine. We watched Evan Almighty, so all of the animals kept her pretty interested. She made it about halfway through before dozing off. (The pics above are from the photo booth at the movies.) Avery thought it was a car, and wanted to get on it, so we figured we would have some fun! I don't think I have been in one of those since high school!!! On Saturday, we planned to go to the zoo but it rained all day so we just did a little shopping. Nick wanted to get Avery a mini-trampoline...to which I said ok, but you will be taking her to the E.R. when needed. She loves it! I will post video of that later. We hoped this would stop her from jumping on everything else, but it didn't work. After shopping we went to Brusters and got Avery her new favorite color of ice cream,- purple. Its a shame that we go there so much now she starts saying "hice keem" before we are even in the parking lot! You can see from the pics below she enjoyed her purple dinosaur cone.















We also got to grill out with Uncle Cayce and Aunt Christie (kiki) and "Uncle" Ben(B) and Linz. Fun times! Oh, I almost forgot. My biggest fear about the whole baby thing happened today. (We've been telling Avery for a while now that Mommy has a baby in her belly..she points to it, plays peek a boo with him, kisses him, etc. VERY cute). Well, we went out for lunch after church and a bigger lady comes up and starts talking to Avery about how cute and smart she is, etc.etc., to which Avery points at her belly and says "Baby!" "Baby!". In Avery's defense, she did have on one of those baby doll tops...I tried to quickly diffuse the situation by saying, "yes, baby, Mommy is having a baby..she tells everyone that..." and the lady quickly said bye bye and walked off. I apologize in advance to anyone Avery may say this to. Honestly, it isn't a weight thing, she points to her own belly and says baby!!

A fun weekend, with Avery making us laugh like crazy as usual!

Baby Davis Update!

I went to the doctor yesterday for my 25 week check up. Baby Davis looks great!!! Yep, still a boy!!! He was moving like crazy and sucking his thumb, so fun to watch! Mommy was fine too, I gained 8 lbs. in one month. Doc said that was fine. Hey, I am making up for lost time...I couldn't eat hardly anything the first few months!!! Next month will be the infamous sugar test, and we will get to have a 4-d and take home a video of our little man!

Don't know if you can tell from the pics, but his little face is already looking cute as a button. I think he looks like Avery did, only a little chubbier. Doc says he is probably going to be big!! He already has big feet and long legs...They don't think he will be a 6 pounder like Aves!

Summer Fun...

Yesterday, Avery and I went to make cards to send to the troops. It was part of our Mom's club kid's craft. We tried to make a handprint as you can see in the picture, but it was a little smeared. Oh well, it is the thought that counts! Avery had fun playing with her friends, but she was a little tired. We started swim lessons that morning. She did very well, considering the 7:45 a.m. wake up call. I literally dressed her asleep and took her to the car. When I told her we were going to the pool, she perked up and ate her cheerios and juice on the way. She did very well I thought, considering she was the youngest in the class, she hung in there with the others. Today she was a little more clingy. I think it was because the water was SO cold. She kept saying "cole" "cole," so unless we were moving, she was probably freezing! But I am proud that she tried to blow bubbles today!! She actually licked the water like a dog, but at least she put her face in it! Way to go Aves!! We still have another week and a half, so who knows, she could be an olympic swimmer by then!

Congrats Leigh and Josh!

Saturday we had a party at the river house to celebrate the marraige of Leigh and Josh. It was a great time! I got to see alot of people I hadn't seen in a LONG time. Always great to catch up with old friends!

Maw Maw kept Avery so I actually got to go out on the boat and relax! Special thanks to Amy C who helped plan all of this...Fun times!! On a sad note, it was Clay's last nite in town. Back to Japan for a few more months :( When he comes back, baby Davis will be here! Speaking of babies, I got to see one of my best friends, Nicole. She only has about 3 weeks left of her pregnancy *(so jealous) and she looks awesome! Hang in there! As for me...3 more months!

TGIF!

Avery and I went to Recreation Station today. Some people from our Moms Club went also. It was our first visit, and she had a good time! She is still a little small to do some of the stuff, but that doesn't stop her. We are about to pack and get ready to go to the river...Leigh and Josh's "reception" is Saturday. Just waiting on Daddy to get home from work...

18 month check up

Avery had her 18 month check up today...She is 33 1/2 inches tall (90%) and 23 1/2 lbs. (50%). The doctor and nurses were all talking about how smart she was, but of course, mommy and daddy already knew that. HAHA She had to get 4 shots, they missed one when we moved from Auburn. So she is good to go till her 2nd birthday!!! Our little princess is growing up SO fast!!! She has already pulled off all her bandaids (boo boos) and taken a long nap, so looks like she has recovered!


Side note : The doctor thought her teeth looked fine, she said only Mommy would notice...(For those who missed it, Avery fell at the beach after Leigh's wedding and chipped her two front teeth).Avery doesn't get "sick" with colds or anything like most kids, she just has a traumatic experience every 6 months or so!

Headed to the River!

Well, this is my first blog. For anyone interested in the Williams clan, this is the place to go! It is 2 p.m., Avery is taking a little nap and I decided to try this blogging thing. As soon as Nick gets home we will be headed to the river house!!! Tomorrow will be a day of family, fun, grilling, and (weather permitting) boat rides!! Let's just hope traffic isn't horrible on the way up and Avery is good in the car!
