I just had to write this down

Avery cracks me up. Constantly. She is so smart sometimes it amazes me. Here are a few of the "jems" from today.

* When I was getting ready for the gym, she said, "A gonna put on mascara." (If it isnt funny enough that a 2 year old knows what mascara is) I said, "You don't need mascara, you are pretty without it." Avery said, "No, A is beautiful!"

* When she was getting out of the bathtub, she told her colors, "Don't have a come apart. It's ok, I get out now."

* I was about to feed Davis and brought some green beans to the table. Avery said, "No Day Day already had beans...he need carrots." I thought about it and she was right. He did have green beans last nite!

* I was telling Avery about Mothers Day and asked her if she wanted to get Mommy a present. She said "yea-s" I said,"What would you get Mommy?" A goes, "A necklace!"

Smart girl! Now go drop that hint to your Daddy.

One more I forgot:
I was packing and trying on clothes. I walk out in a brown top and Avery goes, "I Love it!"

THen she said "Go get your jewelries and ready to go."

I love Birthday Parties!!!

This is what Avery kept saying all the way home from V's party Saturday nite. Judging from the pictures, looks like everyone had a great time. Happy 5th "Tia!!!" Avery loved your Movie Party!!!

Big Boy!

Today was the first time Davis got to ride in the buggy like a big boy with Avery!!! They looked so cute and were SO good in Costco, I had to brag and take a picture. Avery kept hugging him everytime someone would walk by and say "My Baby!" Pardon the quality, it was on my phone...

So excited!

As you saw in the video,Davis loves mealtime!!! He has figured out when I put him in the high chair it is time to eat. He is like a cat. When I pop open the baby food jar, he starts bouncing in his seat! I took this last nite when I was holding up the baby food jar. So cute!!!

Are you smarter than a 2 year old?!?

I was ironing my dress for church this morning, and I told Avery, "Look, Mommy's dress has daffodils on it like yours." She said "Those are not daffodils, daffodils have 6 petals."

Really?

Im a dog?!?

Avery decides to pretend she is a dog. She poured her cheerios in the dog bowl and got on her hands and knees to eat them.

Summer, Summer, Summer Time...

Sort of. As soon as Avery saw people at the Y pool this week, she kept asking me "A go swimming?!?" So today , we got an inflatable pool and started our summertime fun!!! She had a blast, running from the pool to the slide, to the playhouse, climbing in her "treehouse," back to the slide....
It was a little cold for Day Day to get in but he enjoyed watching Avery!

Davis eating his mixed veggies

As you can see, he is a hungry little baby! He would rather take the jar himself than wait on me to feed him with the spoon.

These kids really have it rough, huh?!?

Calling all 80's bands...

I have found you a lead singer!

Davis 6 month pics

Thanks to my friend Jenny for the awesome pics. Here are a few of my faves. Check out her website...its on my links: A moment like this.

Abs of Steel

Davis can now pull him self up from flat on his back!!! He can't do it without the extra push of the boppy, but that is pretty good I'd say!

A First: For Avery

Avery hasn't really eaten any red meat yet (cant imagine why?). I heard she ate some of Papa's hamburger this weekend, so I thought I would let her try a sloppy joe. It was a hit! (Which meant Avery took more than one bite)

If you are wondering why she is in a high chair, she insists on eating in it ever since we got it back out for Davis.

Off the Charts

Davis went for his 6 month check up today....here are the numbers:
Height: 27 1/2 inches (90%)
Weight: 22 lbs. (97%)
H.C.: 18 1/4 inches (97%)

If you remember, I weighed him a couple of weeks ago and he was at 22.5. The Doctor said that getting taller, switching to solid foods, and the fact he is already trying to crawl probably made him lose that 1/2 lb. Obviously, we have nothing to worry about. They checked his eyes today too, since Avery's started crossing at this age. So far, his eyes look great! Oh, and if anyone is interested, at Avery's 6 month check up, she was 17lbs., 25 1/2 inches. Baby Brother has her beat!!!

A gift from Riley P

While Davis was staying with MawMaw, Ivy brought over Riley's exersaucer. Davis loved it so much they sent it home with me. We never bought one, because Avery would not let you put her down at that age. As you can see he is having a great time playing with Riley's old toy!!!

Sorry Nana

Nana and Avery planted a little flower box this weekend. We got it home, watered it, and put it by her house. I went to get the camera to take a picture and she had already pulled the flowers out. Nick tried to replant them, hopefully they will survive.

I love this- Nick hard at work, Avery looking like, "What?!?" And notice all the dirt on the trampoline...

Here is Avery with the evidence...

6 months:all smiles, all the time!

A Day Without Kids

Sometimes I wonder, "What do people do on Saturday if they do not have children?" Well, yesterday, I got to find out. I started out the morning at the SPA. Nick had gotten me a facial and massage for Valentine's Day, so I went to cash it in. It was wonderful. I had total quiet for 2 hours, except for the crazy chatty Cathy in the steam room.... After that rejuvenation, I went to cash in another gift card from Emma's. I had forgotten what it is like to shop and actually talk to the salespeople without chasing a child around the store. That was also nice, but I admit the quiet got boring and by the time I came home to an empty house, I was talking to myself. ALOT. Then, my sister-in-law Christie and I planned to go to Ann Taylor Loft, but it was such a beautiful day, we decided to go lay by the pool. Yes, we sure did. 70 degrees is hot enough for me, and get this, I got a nice little tan!!! Then Nick and I got ready for our big date nite. We ate at our favorite restaurant, SURIN. When we sat down, Nick was like, "What should we talk about, since we can actually TALK at Dinner?!" Yummy food, and then we headed home to watch a movie. Again, I guess I thrive on chaos, because without a baby to feed, a diaper to change, or a toddler to cuddle, I fell asleep and missed half the movie. Oh well. It was fun to see how the other half lives, but I'm ready to get my babies back!!! Thanks to my Mom and Nick's parents for watching them this weekend, I know the kids had a ball and we got to enjoy some time to ourselves.

Wedding Shower!!!

Friday nite, we hosted an Around-the-house Shower for Ben and Linz. They only have about a month till the big day!!! They got lots of good stuff and we enjoyed bar-b-que and good company.

Trying to Capture the Moment...

Yesterday I had a migraine, so I put the kids in bed with me so I could lay down for a minute. Before I knew it, we were all snuggled up asllep. I woke up and snuck to get the camera to try and catch my precious babies all cuddled up. Of course once I focused, it woke them both up.

Davis hears a camera and pops up

So Sweet, my perfect little boy and girl...

Avery wants Day Day to cuddle with blankie...

No "Kid Posts" till Sunday....they are spending the weekend with MawMaw, Nana and Papa!

Happy Birthday Davis!!!

My sweet baby boy is 6 months old today!!! I cannot believe it. I remember with Avery I couldn't wait for her to start solids, roll over, sit up, etc. It feels like Davis has done everything toooooo fast. Happy 1/2 Birthday!

Some things never change....

After I posted Avery's popsicle pictures, Nick's Mom sent me a picture of him eating his first popsicle. Looks like Avery got her love of the frozen treat from her Daddy.

Ok, so she's cute

I never blog about our dogs, because honestly, they drive me CRAZY. But...yesterday I sent them to the groomers for the day so they wouldn't bug my guests. Margie came back looking pretty darn cute. Don't be fooled, I got this picture seconds before she got into it with Harley and ripped out the pretty pink bow.

Cousin Time!!!

I watched Matthew yesterday and he and Avery (and Davis) had a blast. They all play so well together, it was a fun day.

Poor Matthew, Avery kept trying to put jewelry on him, make him hold her hand, and even brought out her Angelina Ballerina poster to show him how to do some ballet moves. He looks very interested, huh?!?

They destroyed the Living room, but had fun doing it! Day -Day even helped! Here they are taking a break to watch Mickey Mouse. It was the only second I had to get a picture of them all together.

They even slowed down to eat....Grilled Cheese and apples. YUM!

I am so glad Avery is going to have so many cousins so close in age, they are going to have a very fun childhood with lots of fun memories.

TPIR video

http://www.cbs.com/daytime/the_price_is_right/video/video.php?cid=559221502

Mommy's Big Debut

The Price is Right aired today!!! I had a viewing party at the house and spotted us on TV many times. Fun Fun.
Avery and Davis dressed to support in the shirts I brought them back from L.A.

Well, my 15 minutes of Fame are up. Time to go fold laundry.

Big Boy Bathtub

Well, kinda. Davis has left the lay-back baby tub behind and is in the "sitting up" one. Next step: the real bath!!!
He seems to love it, I can't wait to get him in the pool, he is such a water baby!

**Don't you love how the duckie makes a perfect little censor???

Old Friends

Yesterday, a couple of our good friends from Auburn, Scott and Julie dropped by. It was great to see them and catch up. They also had some wonderful news, they are engaged! Congratulations!
