Finally, a nursery!

Ok, so now I feel like I can go to the hospital! After the baby shower this morning, My Mom and sisters helped me get Davis' room ready! We are still waiting on a dresser (should be here Tuesday afternoon) but everything else is now complete. I could NOT have done it without them! Actually, I didn't do anything except tell them what to do... Thanks guys!!!!

Today, my wonderful sis-in-laws, Christie and Julie, gave me a baby shower. We had so much fun and I got lots of cute little boy things!! I was so happy that most everyone got to come except a few family members who were sick or had sick kids. A few of my out-of-town friends couldn't come, but I will see them soon. It is so great to have so many people that care about you - especially when a baby is near. Thanks Julie for hosting, and to Christie and Nana for all your help! I really appreciate it!

*Oh, as part of one of our shower games, we measured my belly....45 inches! WOW!

Momma says...

Last nite, our Moms club had a get-together at Angelle's called "Momma Says." Basically, she sent out questions to all of our Moms and got the "dirt" on our childhood. We had such a great time! Some Moms even got to attend, I wish mine lived here so she could have came. But she did send nice, bald pics of me as a baby and lots of funny stories...how I dropped Leigh at only 2 months old, how I liked to run around naked, etc. Although Avery looks like Daddy, it seems she acts just like I did. What a fun nite with friends, and a chance to remind ourselves just how wonderful Mommies are!!!
P.s. Thanks to Jenny for sending me this pic. I really am about to POP!

And the countdown begins....

I went to the doctor today and all systems are GO!!! I am dilated 1 1/2 centimeters. He is turned and down ready to move. The doctor said to take it very easy for 5 more days, and then Davis will be fine to come on into the world. He is about 6 lbs. now, maybe a little more. I now know this pain I have been having for the past week in my side and back has been contractions. I never had any with Avery, just some lower backaches, and then my water broke and we went right into labor....so this time is already different. I am really uncomfortable to put it lightly, but now I am excited because I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. My bag is packed, and Avery's too. Just gotta get Nick to charge up the ole camera...

Where's Elmo?

The running joke the past few days in our house has been, Where are the "three elmo's?" I don't know if its because I just put new batteries in all of them or what, but Avery has started dragging all three around everywhere. We never know where they are gonna end up. We do know that they will be lined up just so whereever she decides they need to go....by the window, on the aerobed, taking a nap on the couch, playing on her table...

Fun Friday

This morning, Avery and I met our friends from playgroup and Aunt Julie and "Mamu" at the park! The weather was wonderful and the kids had a great time. Today, Avery's favorite activity was the swing, which she usually only lasts on for a few minutes. She also climbed the "stairs" and went down the slide all by herself!!! Maybe it was all these boys- she felt like she had to step up?!? ALthough it seems that way from the pictures, I promise the kids played, not just snacked!!!

It's a miracle!

Avery has napped not 1, not 2, but 3 days in a row!!!! And it couldn't come at a more perfect time. I have officially reached the miserable stage of pregnancy. Everything hurts, and I can't bend over anymore. So thanks Avery for a much needed break. Keep it up!!!

Zoo Class

Avery went to her first zoo class today. It was "Down on the Farm." She began more interested in coloring than checking out the animals, but she soon got into it. She pet a guinea pig, chicken, rat and snake. (Those last two freaked me out!!!! She does not get that fearlessness from Mommy!) She was hesitant with the guinea pig but walked right up to the snake !!! Then we went out to the barn where she got to pet several animals she is very familiar with- sheep, goat, and cows. She loved it. It is so funny to see how she can be such a girly-girl and then get down and dirty without a second thought. She recieved a little certificate saying that she completed the class and was proud of that. Of course, her favorite part was after class when we rode the choo-choo!

Margie

After getting rid of our boys, (puppies that is), now I can post about our newest addition, Margie. I was against another puppy, but Nick talked me into it. Avery adores her and she is so sweet you can't help but love her. Any dog who can put up with this kind of treatment deserves to stay!

Ready for Baby?!?

Avery has had this little baby since Christmas. The last few days however, she has really not put her down. She likes to rock her, feed her, change her diaper, and read her books. I guess she is getting practice for being a big sister! Is this a sign? Does Avery have a sixth sense? Could Davis be coming soon? to be continued....

Showering Baby Davis

I had my first baby shower today for our little man. My neighbor Kris hosted it and some friends in our neighborhood (from my Bunco group)came. It was so wierd to open all blue things, but exciting as well. I can't wait to get everything washed up, put away, and ready for Davis to wear!!! My mom, mother in law, and both sister-in-laws came too, so it was a wonderful day. Avery had a good time checking out all the presents for brother...she also got to play with Papa, Uncle Todd & KK(Cayce),& Ma-mu(Matthew) after the shower. She is now in Athens with MawMaw and Nana till Tuesday. (This is why you will see so many new posts today!!!) I miss her already! I am looking forward to getting a haircut tomorrow, and Nick and I are going to go out to eat alone. (probably for the last time for a long time!)
