Go Ba-yeah today?

Avery asks me everyday if she goes to ballet today. On Thursday, she got up at 7 wanting to put her tu-tu on. She doesn't go until 11. So I let her put it on and she hung out by the door practicing her moves until it was time to go.

Mommy's hat

Avery dug out my "winter hat" and has been playing with it ever since! And yes, that is a baby bottle she is trying to feed Davis.

Another "new" toy

Since we can't play outside, we broke out another of Avery's favorite toys for Davis to try out. After some coaching (and tormenting) by the Big Sis, Day-Day figured it out. He seems to like it. We have to put his little lamb pillow in it to hold him up, which he of course, wants to eat.

Just gotta brag...

Not only did Nick bring me a super crunch home yesterday (he had a 1/2 day), he cooked supper. THANKS! Love you!

First Food!

We gave Davis his first food tonite, carrots. He sat there and sucked them off the spoon like it was his job!!! Seriously though, he caught on really quick. He seemed to like them ok, but just like everything with Day-Day, you can't really tell. He is so laid back, easy-come, easy-go, he doesn't get too excited about much. Congrats on another milestone baby boy, you are growing up too fast!!!

Davis's buddy

Here is Day-Day with his Buddy Ian. They are 2 weeks apart. Yes I said 2 weeks, not 2 months! Michelle (Ian's mommy) says Ian is the golf pro and Davis is the defensive lineman. Works for me. Anyone else think his hair is looking a little bit like KRAMER?

Almost...

Davis can almost roll over. He lays on his playmat and scoots off it, and makes a complete circle. The he kicks back and forth until he rolls halfway over. He only uses his legs, what a strong little man! Be patient, he's got alot to move!

Eye Exam!!!

As most everyone knows, Avery has worn glasses since she was 8 months old. We were released from the pediatric opthamologist when she turned 2, so today we went to a local doctor for an eye exam. I am happy to report Avery's vision has gotten a little better. She was a +5, now she is +4.5. This is still very poor, if you don't understand the #'s, but its an improvement. She had to get her eyes dialated,(Can you see her pupils?!?) bless her heart. I know how bad I hate that, but she was an excellent patient. The best part was of course, picking out new glasses! Avery went straight to the Vera Bradley collection and didn't want to try on anything else. I am not kidding. I have witnesses. (Wonder where she got that from...) We talked her into some red disney princess frames with little hearts. I (we) are SO excited to get them. I will post pictures as soon as they come in.

Only yesterday...

(And Sunday too...)
We played outside, went to the park...
Now we are about to start a fire!!! Only in Alabama.

Diet Food

I was snacking on a rice cake today (trying to redeem myself from the weekend) and Avery wanted a bite. I gave her half. She took one bite and said "A spit. Goss!" and gave the rest to Houser. Funny, that is exactly what I was thinking!

SMILE!!!

Can I just say again how in love I am with my little man?! He is such a happy, laid back baby. His smile lights up my day!

And no comments about the smocked outfit. We had just got home from church!

Barbie 101

"Im a Barbie Girl, in a Barbie world..." That must be what Davis is thinking. Avery introduced him to all her Barbies yesterday and even shared a few with him. She was so into it, like Barbie names were very important for him to know. (Such a good big sister!) He seems soooo interested, don't you think?!?

He ain't heavy, He's my brother

Avery insisted on holding Davis, even though she is only 6 pounds heavier! He didn't seem to mind and neither did he! Aren't they sweet!?!

When Mommy's away...

the girls will play. I found these pictures on my camera this morning. Angelle brought her girls and watched the kids Saturday nite so Nick and I could go eat and to a movie with Ben and Linz. Apparently, these girls have no mercy on day Day either, or Houser for that matter.

Adam's Heart Run

I did another 5k this morning with Michelle at Oak Mt. State Park. We finished in 42 minutes, which was 7 minutes better than our previous time. As long as we got better, we didn't care. We both forgot cameras this time, so Nick took this picture of me when I got home. As you can see, Avery was proud of her Mommy!

Friday Funnies

Avery the comedian has been on a roll today , so I thought I'd share...

*Since spending the weekend with Riley, everytime she "goes potty," she says-"Push it down, A!"
* I made mashed potatoes for supper and asked if she wanted some and she yelled (really, she did) "Oh, YES!!!"
* Avery likes to announce to everyone, anywhere we went today, "Day Day pooted." Several times. Over and Over.
*At lunch today, the waitresses were oohing and aahing over Davis. She told them- "My DayDay!!!"
* Nick and I were talking about eye color, she said Day-Day's were blue, Daddys were green, A's were brown, and Mommy's were BLACK.
* We were also talking about hair color. She said Day-Day and Daddy's hair was brown and Mommy's was yellow. (Maybe I need a new do?!?)
* When we left the gym I told her I needed to put her jacket on. She said "A make blankie jacket." And wrapped her blankie around her like a jacket. Smart Girl.

Oh how she makes us laugh!

Like Father, Like son

I snapped this last nite of Nick and Davis watching t.v. together.

Avery's First Date

TOTALLY kidding. This is Avery and her friend "Zepellin" strolling through the zoo after class today.

ZOO Class

I have been a bad Mommy and left my camera at home for the last three zoo classes. I remembered it today, and captured some moments of "GRAY ANIMALS" day.
Avery got to pet a skink, a chincilla (which she called a cat), and a snake. She put her hand in a rhino's footprint, made a craft (well, I made it) and colored a picture of a rhino. She liked the turtles as always, and didn't pay too much attention to the teacher, but we had a good time.

I never thought of it that way

Avery was watching the flamingoes today and says "Mommy, birds do ba-yeah!) (ballet)

Another Milestone

Kind of... Davis was trying his best to hold on to his bottle at the zoo today. Hey, he might not roll over on time, but he's gonna be holding a bottle and feeding himself by 5 months!
(At least he realizes what is important!)

Johnny Jump Up

Or at least I think that is what people used to call them. We let Davis try it out today, he sat there awhile but didn't seem too impressed. Of course, Avery had to show him how its done!

Nice.

This is what Avery did today when I was feeding Davis and getting him down for a nap. I heard her say... " A paint," but I thought she was talking about something she did at school. No, she meant Paint. Herself. From head to toe, literally. At least they were washable.

Coming to a Vegas show near you....

I've said it before and I'll say it again...Poor Davis.
Today Davis was playing on his little mat, and Avery noticed his band-aids from yesterday. She kissed Davis's boo-boos and went on her way. A few minutes later I was in the laundry room and I hear her say, " I kiss Day-Day's boo boo. Day Day got boobies." I come in the living room, and the picture says it all.

Day-Day's First "First"

After our Doctor's visit yesterday, she told me it would be fine to give Davis diluted juice in between bottles. When he first put it in his mouth, his eyes were going back and forth like "Are you serious? This is good!" He finished 4 oz. in about 3 minutes. Not a great pic, I was multi-tasking, but you get the idea.

Checkups!

Today Avery & Davis went for their 2 year and 4 month check-ups. Here are the numbers:
Avery
height:35 1/2 inches (90%)
weight:26 lbs. (50%)

Davis
height:25 1/2 inches (75%)
weight:18 lbs, 6 1/2 ounces (90%)

Sidenote: The nurse came in and saw Davis's fat legs and went back to get a bigger needle!!! Davis was such a trooper, he had stopped crying before I even got his pants on. And Avery- I am sure she is going to be a politician. She was talking to everybody in that office...."Hi, How ya doing?" and making comments about their clothes. I immediately took her home to bathe off whatever germs were lurking in that office, so that explains the picture.

Awh...

When the kids & were riding home today from meeting my Mom, Avery said "Mommy- I mish you!" Just melted my heart. Much better than yesterday, Ivy asked her if she wanted to go see Mommy & Daddy and she said "Stay at Maw Maw's house!"

Diva in Training

Avery spent the nite with my Mom Saturday, which meant Mom had to get her all ready for church Sunday morning. After the dress, pantyhose, shoes, & hairbow, Mom thought she was done. Avery informed her: "Maw Maw- I got to have my necklace!" She knows she gets to wear a necklace to church only. Too funny!

If you want to...

I thought I should post about a couple of important walks I am doing in the near future. Feel free to contribute to the cause if you see fit! I would really appreciate it.
First is the Easter Seals Walk on March 1. My MOMS club has a team and we are walking with Clayton, a little boy with autism. If you would like to donate, the link for it is:

Also on April 26, I am doing the March of Dimes Walk. My friend Jenny had a "preemie" four years ago and I am walking with her in honor of Victoria.

I'm with the band

I have a new love. It is Rock Band. Nick and I got it yesterday and played all nite with some of our friends. (We are not total dorks- we did go to a romantic valentines day dinner first.) I must brag on myself, I scored 99% on my first attempt at vocals. Nick scored a 61%. To his defense, he was pretty awesome on his first try at the drums, while I made a 52%! Now we just have to teach Avery and Davis how to play. Is there a Williams Family Band in the near future? You will have to wait and see!

Welcome to the World

Nick's cousin (well, I think I've been in the fam long enough to say she's my cousin)...Christiana had her baby girl Friday. Riley Grace weighed 8 lbs 5 ounces and was 20 3/4' inches. Congratulations! WE love you and Avery & Davis can't wait to meet their new cousin!

Maybe Paula Abdul?

Ok after I posted about how Avery was like Simon, she changed on me. Today she brought her mic to me and said "Sing Mommy!" I sang a few lines of Barbie ISland Princess and went on with my business. Then she follows me around the house saying "Sing gain Mommy" "Mommy sing gan..." I must admit I had a crushed ego before. All is well.

Happy Valentines Day to my Hubby

I was spoiled by my sweetie, so I must brag on him. I got a new running outfit, a gift card to Emma's, and best of all: a trip to the spa for a facial and manicure. Thanks Nick! I love you!

p.s. I didnt do so bad myself- I got him tickets for us to go see the EAGLES in May.

Happy Valentines Day to my babies!!!

We celebrated with Avery & Davis last nite, since they will be going to visit MawMaw, Nana & Papa this afternoon. We gave Avery her present when she finished her bath. She said "Ooh-wee!" "Barbie balla-bina!" "Barbie Eye-land Princess Dress!!!" I think we hit a homerun with her gifts. Now little Day-Day would love anything I'm sure but he really seemed to like his little crab.
Happy Valentines to my two sweetie pies!! Mommy & Daddy love you!

Wednesday, February 13, 2008

Look out, Simon Cowell!

So Avery is watching Little Einsteins this morning and wanting me to dance around. I start singing..."We are going on a trip on our favorite rocket ship..." And she drops my hands and says "No Sing Mommy!" Ouch.

Valentine's Day Party

Avery & Davis attended their first Valentine Party yesterday! As you can see, Davis was not too impressed. Avery kept saying the whole time we were going to a birthday party and I think she was disapointed that there were no candles to blow out! She saw cupcakes, however and all was well. What is it about little kids and cupcakes?!? They LOVE them! She had fun playing with her friends and exchanging cards and candy. Her favorite thing was playing the piano. Ah, a little Beethoven in training.
