Anniversary Weekend in Atlanta
Nick and I went to visit Adam and Abby this weekend and celebrate our 8th anniversary. We arrived late Friday nite and decided to go midnight bowling. This is the first time in 15 years I beat Nick, so of course I needed photographic evidence.
The next day, Abby had to work so Nick, Adj, & I went to Dantannas to watch the soccer game. After they began losing, I went across the street to Lennox Square for some shopping!
That night was the big event. We went to CRAFT, where Adam is a chef, for a fabulous meal. To say we were treated like royalty was an understatement. The food was amazing and the service impeccable. I highly recommend this place if you are ever in the area.
After eating, we went back home and hung out with Adam and Abby. They were such wonderful hosts. We had a fun nite of conversation, laughs, and games.
We had just one more stop before heading back to reality....6 FLAGS~
Neither of us had been since we had Avery, so it was a fun time. Goliath was our favorite ride.
I am so glad we got to celebrate like this. Thanks to MawMaw, Nana and Papa for keeping the kids. We missed them but enjoyed our time together.
Dayday......
I havent posted about my precious little 2 year old lately. He is a ball of energy, sweet as pie, and ALL boy. Since getting his tubes, Davis is talking SO much. He is hilarious to listen to & I wanted to jot down a few things so I dont forget!
* As soon as DayDay wakes up, he asks for Sissy. "Where Sissy go?" is a phrase we hear often. He just loves her, and of course Avery loves it.
* He has learned what "mean" means. So everytime you tell him something he doesn't wanna hear, he says: "You Mean." Its so cute you can't get mad. He also says: "You mean at me" when he goes to timeout or something like that.
* He loves Cars, the movie. He pretends to Light-en M-Teen all the time.
* He is also infatuated with Buzz & Woody. Any shirt, pajamas, cup, snack, or book we see with Toy Story on it, he wants.
* He has picked up slang phrases from us and uses them correctly. Its so funny to hear him say "Nice." or If he does something good, "Awesome." lol
* He is a social butterfly like his sister. Looks like I will have no shy kids, and thats ok. He never forgets a name! Its really impressive. He also knows who belongs with who....and if the other half isnt there, he calls you out on it.
* His favorite song is "Big Green Tractor" and he sings it all the time. He also refers to every large piece of farm equipment (no matter the color) as a Big Green Tractor.
* He loves to wrestle with Daddy. He will cant " Bobby Slam!" "Bobby Slam!" Of course, Nick obliges.
*Dayday loves his Mommy. When I get ready for church he usually tells me " I like you dress Mommy." SO SWEET.
* He loves his little cousins, and is surprisingly gentle with them. He is very interested in babies. The last time I was holding our friends baby girl, he looked at me all serious and said; " I want a baby like dat."
* His "C's" come out as "T's,", so Cookie, Covers, and Calliou are Tookie, Tovers, & Talliou.

Nashville Rising
Tuesday Nite, Nicole and I neaded north to Old Hickory for a girls nite with Mary Jo. On the agenda: the Nashville Rising Concert, which benefitted the flood victims of Middle Tennesee. Not only was the line up AMAZING, we had our own suite to enjoy the show! Thanks to MJ's friend for the hook-up...this is a concert I will not soon forget!
Here we are in our VIP area:) I didnt take many pictures- we were too busy enjoying the music!
A little downtown fun after the show...of course we ended up at Second Fiddle and Visited Troubadours for the first time for some KARAOKE!
I love these girls!!!!

As Father's Day approaches...
Roses grow in Heaven, Lord, pick a bunch for me ~ Place them in my Daddy's arms & tell him they're from me ~ Tell him that I love & miss him & when he turns to smile ~ place a kiss upon his cheek & hold him for awhile ~ Remembering him is easy ~ I do it everyday ~ There's an ache within my heart that will never go away. ~
Happy Father's Day Daddy

The ole neighborhood
I absolutely LOVE our neighborhood. When we lived in Maylene, we had awesome neighbors who we became great friends with. When we moved home, we lived away from a subdivision, for a year and I really missed that interaction.
Fast forward to January, when we moved here. We knew a couple of people, and we just happened to move next door to Avery's preschool teacher and my coworker. We quickly made friends with several couples on our street and close by. Im even in a BUNCO group again. whoohoo. I am truly thankful to have such wonderful people around us and that the kdis have good friends to grow up with!
Best laid plans...
Another grand idea I had for our Summer fun calendar was to hit up the free movie at Monaco each week. Unfortunately, the day we met Nicole & Ev to see Bee Movie, half of Alabama showed up. They put some of us in another theater and we saw Open Season instead. After rushing to get two kids ready and to Huntsville by 9:45, waiting in line til 10:15, getting popcorn and cokes and sitting through previews til 10:40, they watched about 20 minutes of the movie and were bored. They wanted to go play in the fountain at Bridgestreet instead.
Storytime
We joined the Summer Reading Program at the public Library in June. I thought this would be a
Cheerleading!
Avery joined Onyx All Stars back in May. I am assistant coach of her team, so we are at the gym twice a week now. She absolutely loves it. She practices her cartwheels, roundoffs, and toe touches all day- and for anybody who will watch!
Our first cheerleading "event" was last Friday. I got up at 4:30 to pick up some HOT NOW krispy kremes. It was our first fundraiser, and we sold until after lunch in the ridiculous heat. Thanks so much to our friends and family who helped us out!!!
I also want to thank Jim McClary, Jeb Lovvorn, and Kate Anderson (and their respective businesses) for sponsoring Avery this year. We are having a blast.

Life...not in pictures
We have had a fabulous weekend- and I have absolutely NO pictures to show for it. I don't know what happened. I have been so busy with school I didnt even think about anything but having FUN when the weekend rolled around.
Friday nite, we had a great nite grilling out with friends. One of said friends is single and brought his
Saturday, Avery & I had cheer camp and the guys slept in. That afternoon, I worked on homework and the kids took a nap. Later, we went to a birthday party and enjoyed some family time at home.
Today, we were lucky to have Onnie come to church with us. It was a wonderful service, as usual....until after the A-men. Davis took off to the bathroom while we were visiting with everyone. He tee-teed in the potty (to his credit) but took his diapers and pants off and ran out into the auditorium. Nice.
After a LOVELY afternoon nap, we went to bible class & Sweet Peppers then back to our neighbors for some outdoor fun & socializing. We had such great neighbors in Alabaster and we are so lucky to be back in a subdivision with some cool people. Life would be so boring without Wisteria Lane.
I am gonna be lost for a while- MJ is out of the country and Nicole is going to the beach. The 3 musketeers are down to one. On a good note, Liz is due Tuesday, so I cant wait to meet baby E!
This week, its more cheer practice, library time, and swimming for us. (And Mommy has to fit some gym time in there somewhere!) Gotta love Summer.
Even with all the curveballs life has thrown us lately...I am truly blessed and I do not take a single minute for granted.
