"Ballet"

Last weekend, Avery started doing "ballet" at Nana's. When we were in the middle of cleaning out her closet the other nite, she found her red glitter ballet shoes for Halloween and wanted to put them on. Not one to miss a photo opportunity, I got her to put on her tutu as well and dance. She used hangers as props and danced to "Claire" (her Nutcracker musical globe). I cannot wait for her to start real ballet next year!
Oh, as you can see from the pictures, she needed a water break in the middle of her performance.

Dia-ders for Melmo

Avery has learned to tell me when she needs diaper change. She will even go get a diaper for Mommy so I can change her. Today, however, she decided to bring the whole stack to me and she wanted to give Melmo (Elmo) a dia-der change. I think she will be a good little helper when Davis gets here!

"C" is for cookie!

At a playdate at Devon's house, the kids got to "make" their own cookie. Avery liked putting the icing on, and loved the sprinkles. Of course the best part was getting to eat the cookie!

Our little Horticulturist

Avery loves flowers, which is fitting since her Daddy has a degree in Horiculture from good ole Auburn University! I am glad Nick can teach her about flowers, their names, what should grow where & when...Because I have absolutely NO idea about any of it. Avery can ask me about history, fashion, pop culture, or any kind of music and I got it covered! Just please don't expect me to name any trees or plans, or keep them alive for that matter. It is somewhat embarassing for Nick, but sorry. At least Avery inherited his appreciation for a green thumb!

10 years....

Nick had his ten year reunion a couple of weeks ago. We just got the picture cd today so I thought I would share some of the fun! We had a family picnic in the day and then an adults only get-together at Canebrake that nite. It was so wonderful to see so many old friends!
Since we started dating at 17, I kinda felt like this was a reunion for me too! Many of the girls in his class went to UNA with me, and since Athens is such a small town, we were still friends even though I was a "county" girl. As for Nick's buddies, they are like brothers to me now! I was the only girl in the group for soooo long, then most of us ended up at Auburn together where I was second Mama to alot of them. I would not trade these guys or the memories from high school till now for anything and I know Nick would not either. He grew up with these boys and they remain best of friends today. Pretty awesome in this day and age!

For Davis...

Check out this jersey I ordered for Davis. It is Stephen Davis' jersey for the Panthers. Nick would not let me get the Auburn version, and he is quick to point out that we are spelling it Steven Davis and naming him after my Dad, NOT an Auburn football player. I just had to get him this from his Mommy though!

Tea Time (again!)

Ever since Avery attended her first tea party, she has been playing tea party! She drinks her tea/cop-pee out of her little medicine cup. So I decided to go get her a little tea set today. We put on her pink dress that Aunt Leigh and Uncle Josh brought back from Greece, brought out her pup-ul bear, and had a party. She had so much fun!

Daddy's new job...

After a fun week, its time to go back to the real world. Nick starts his new job at Shoal Creek Golf Club today and he is super excited! We just had to get one more weekend at"home." The fam had a great time in Athens. Friday we stayed with Nana and Papa, where Avery learned to do ballet wearing her tutu. I will post pics soon when I can get her to do it again! Saturday, Avery, Aunt Leigh and I got to go visit one of my best friends, Nicole and her new baby. It was great to catch up and to be reminded of the cute little newborn things that are right around the corner. Nick got to play golf with one of his buddies while the girls were out. That nite, Avery was spoiled once again & stayed with MawMaw while Mommy & Daddy went to the Wedding of the year! Aves got to play with Aunt Ivy (Bobby), Riley and Leigh while we had some adult time and saw lots of old friends. We wished Daddy luck this morning and got back into our regular routine...

Zoo Day!!!

Ok, so its waayyyy too hot for the zoo. We were three of about 7 total people there this afternoon. But this was the only chance Daddy would have to go with us before Davis gets here, so we toughed it out. Actually, it was not SO bad...we mixed up the indoor and outdoor exhibits to give us a break. Of course, Avery started asking to ride the choo choo before we even got in the zoo. We put her in the new backpack that Daddy got and checked out all the animals we could see and saved the choo choo for last.

(Mommy loves this! It gives her back a break!)

Avery liked the birds and the monkeys. She got to see the snakes for the first time because Mommy won't go in there. She also got to feed the giraffes with Daddy, which she really enjoyed.

Of course, her favorite part was the choo choo!!! She did not want to give the conductor her non-ey though!

We stopped by the gift shop on the way out and actually found a cup with her name on it. We cooled off with some dirnks and ice cream and headed to the car. Again, we had a fun-filled day and Avery was out before we got out of the zoo parking lot.

Chuck E Cheese

Wednesday, Nick and I and Ben and Linz decided to take Avery to Chuck E Cheese. Was she in for a treat!!! Usually, whe she and I go, she gets 5 tickets or so and the guy gives her a pity prize like an eraser. Well, the team effort of Benzie and Daddy got Avery over 500 tickets. She got a little mermaid stamp marker set. Most importantly, she had a fabulous time!! She really played her little heart out! She fell asleep before we even got on the interstate!

Time with Daddy!

Nick has had the week off since he starts his new job on Monday. Avery has been one very busy little girl and has had a wonderful time bonding with Daddy. I will make several posts of our fun week! On Monday, she got to experience Monday Nite
Football at Buffalo Wild wings. I think she liked all of the t.v.'s, but her favorite part was when Daddy won her a purple ball out of the machine. After eating, we went to see Daddy's favorite t.v. show, (as a movie) The Simpsons. She liked and stayed awake for most of it.There was noone in the theater but us, so Avery even got her own seat. She was such a big girl. eating popcorn out of the bucket and drinking coke out of the straw!SSHH don't tell the dentist!

Tuesday, Nick/Daddy decided Avery needed a basketball goal. She loves it! She will throw any type of ball into it and she is pretty good on the slam dunks!

The end of an era...

No, I am not talking about Mike Shula's coaching career. haha. Houser got back from surgery today and will no longer be making any puppies. He is the proud papa of 22 and that seems like a nice number in which to stop!

This bunch of puppies are doing very well. They are 4 weeks old today and have started mushy puppy food. Aren't they adorable?!?

Tea Party

Today we had a tea party at Angelle's house with some of our friends. It was the first one Avery or I had attended, and it was lots of fun! Avery actually sat still the whole time while she drank her tea (which she called cop-pee(coffee)). Each table had a "place setting" for each child and plenty of cute decorations.

The kids looked so cute all dressed up with their mini cups and saucers and little sandwiches and cookies. The Mommy's enjoyed playing waitress and serving tea (apple juice) . They lasted about 20 minutes or so and then it was time to head outside to play. Avery and I can't wait for the next one!!!
