Happy Thanksgiving!

From our Family to yours. I have so much to be thankful for, I cannot even begin to list...I could type pages upon pages, but here are just a few :
*I am thankful for Nick who works hard everyday so I can stay home these few precious years with my babies.
* I am thankful for Avery, who makes me laugh every single day-even if its saying something gross about boogers.
*I am thankful for Davis, who comes at me with a big, open, mouth for a wet kiss.
* I am thankful for my Mom, who would do anything for me and the kids, and has.
* I am thankful for my "in-laws," who are just like a second set of parents to me.
* I am thankful for Leigh, who always worries about everyone else and has such a thoughtful nature.
* I am thankful for Ivy, who always says what everyone else is thinking, and who you can always count on to tell you the truth.

*I am thankful for all of my extended family & friends, who make each day special & worthwhile.
* I am thankful for our new church and its welcoming members.
* I am thankful for music
And last but not least, I am thankful for Starbucks.

Something other than Turkey

I met up with the roomies(a.k.a Lori, MJ, & Nicole) last nite to eat some Mexican. This is one of the things I looked forward to when I knew we were moving home- getting to see them more!
I love when we get together, we never skip a beat, & it is always like old times on Woodcastle Drive. And, I always hate when it ends...
Love ya'll!

Movie Nite

Wednesday nite, Avery spent the nite with Nana and Davis stayed with MawMaw...so I got to go to the movies with Atina, Jenny & Lori. We all read Twilight, and wanted to see the movie. Despite being the oldest girls there, we had a good time...and its a good movie. If you haven't read the book, you may not "get it," so read it first.
Thanks girls, I had fun!

breaking an entering

Apparently Safety First needs to employ Davis as a product-tester. He couldn't get the lock open, so he just broke it!

Dinner Party

Last nite, Avery dressed up her dolls and had some kind of princess party. All I know is Nick had to dress Zachary (the care bear) in a tutu and all of them had to have their own plate of tacos.
On a separate note, Davis ate his entire (soft) taco and half of Avery's.

Ballet!

Avery is enjoying her new ballet class. They are learning "real" ballet, with all the positions and fancy names...here she is today showing off some of her moves. She is the youngest and smallest in the class (its a pre-school class, up to age 4) but she holds her own!

What its all about...

And they call it...Puppy Love

Ms. Teacher

As I type, Avery is reading a bible story to Davis. I think she is playing teacher. Here is how it went...

Avery: " OK Davis, do you want me to read a story to you about GOd?"
Davis: da da da da
Avery: " God made me and all the animals. He made shooting stars. Did you ever see a star? He made the animals so beautiful for me." " Now that is your bed story, its time for bed."
Davis: ma ma ma ma
Avery: "No buts!" " DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?!"

She took a quick break to come and tell me her pj's didnt match and she needed to go change. ( She wanted to wear DayDay's & "be a baby.")

Avery: "Now its time to color. Let's draw a picture for God. NO let's draw it for Jesus. How bout Santa?!? Lets make a picture for Santa. I can't wait to see him!"

oops, Guess her priorities are not quite in order yet.

Week in Review

* I've been in all week with sick kids, yet I can't seem to keep up with everything. Lots of cuddling and tv watching this week. (going a little stir crazy)
* Davis's new pastime: pulling all the clothes out of drawers. My room, his room, A's room, doesn't matter.
* I've come to the realization that Nick and I will not have a conversation without being interrupted untill Avery goes to college.
* I joined the community chorus. Call me a dork if you want but I love to sing, and I love to sing Christmas music, so I thought why not?! It's actually much harder than I thought and I can't wait till the concert!
* Avery has officially hit the terrible threes. Early. And she's so stinkin smart she can figure out how to convince you of anything. I find myself arguing with her and then thinking...WAIT, she is three. I do not have to explain myself to her. Actually, she thinks I do.
*I L-O-V-E my little nephews. I also love to sleep at nite. Hearing my sisters talk of late nite-feedings makes me sure I am content with my two.
*Speaking of sleep, I would much rather be sick than my kids. For various reasons, but at least then I could sleep!
* I am amazed that a one year old already knows it is funny to pass gas. BOYS.
* I have become quite coupon-savvy. I'm wondering why I didnt do this years ago.
* I love not having carpet, but I also didn't realize how much I would be sweeping.
* Twilight came out. Going to see it next week when all the teeny-boppers have had their fill.
* I have begun "rebuilding" my Resume. Scary thought to think I have been out of teaching for almost three years. I feel a little, um, dumb?
* I cannot wait for Thanksgiving festivities to begin. Family and Food, what more could you ask for!

Dinnertime...

Last nite, Davis was so tired from playing with his cousins all day, he didn't even make it through his meal. He would take a bite, fall asleep, wake up, grab another bite, doze off again, until he was out.

Bedtime Routines

I love having two so close in age that they can do (almost) everything together. One of my favorite times is bathtime.
After baths, I sit them in the sink to comb and dry their hair and let them brush teeth. Davis watches Avery and copies everything she does (uhoh)

Here is Davis and his "crazy hair" as A calls it...

And the Princess- I got her out of the bath, wrapped her up, and she said, "Get me a towel for my head please."

Then we all go snuggle on the couch untill davis falls asleep. Here is Avery trying to Cross her legs like a lady. (I'm trying, people!)

And here is my little man, getting all cozy on the couch!

Fall!

After I picked up Avery from school yesterday, Riley wanted to come home with us. Leigh and Coleby came too, and Ivy brought Cody over.Everyone had colds, so we figured it didn't matter. (we just kept the kids away from Coleby)Since 50 was the high of the week, we let the kids play outside a little while. I raked up some leaves and let them jump in. Avery has never done this at our house before...where we used to live we had no trees! They had fun but soon the runny noses set in and we had to go inside!
