Hiatus part2

Expect a blogging binge tomorrow. I am sooooooo behind. I love to blog. I miss it. I have lots of funny stories and pictures and updates...
Why no blogs then You ask?
I just CANNOT turn my head away from Davis for ONE MINUTE. He is all boy and into everything. I am afraid to start a blog for fear he may burn down the house. BY the time he is in bed, I don't have the energy to upload any pictures!

Happy Saturday and Hopefully Happy SNow!!

Not to be outdone...

Davis was a little jealous of the babies getting all of my attention yesterday...

Here he is being a baby. Notice the bouncy is about an inch from the floor. I think he exceeded the weight limit.

And here he is posing so I will take HIS picture. Sweet little man.

Sweet Babies

Ladies first....
Lily Claire Evans

Uncle Nick...(don't get any ideas.)

Philip Anderson Williams

On Sunday Nick, the kids, Papa and me headed down to see Philip and Lily (and pick up Nana). They are both adorable, perfect little angels! We are so blessed to have such healthy sweet babies in our family. I LOVE being an aunt to all boys- lots of baseball games in my future:) Since I'm an "unofficial" aunt to Lily, there will be plenty more ballet recitals and dress-up dates to look forward to as well.

Chili Challenge

Since I've talked so much about it, I thought I would post a couple pics...Kate & I wanted to remember what we did so we would know where to start next year!

The silent auction was a huge success...Im sure we made well over $1500 for Hospice in our section alone. I bid on a couple of things from other booths and won- I was super excited! What a fun day for a great cause.

An evening with Keller Williams

The evening would not be complete without the self-portrait!

Running in Circles :)

I feel like I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off, but nothing to show for it...thus, no blogging this week. I feel much better though, so I am thankful to just FEEL like getting out and doing anything.

Here's a wrap-up
Monday I spent all morning at the dentist (thanks Mom for watching the kiddos) only to find out I had TMJ. Im serious- I hit 31 and my body is falling apart. After that we came home, napped & played around the house...

Tuesday, I took Avery to school and rushed home for my weekly clean the house as fast as I can before I have to pick her up at 12:45 ritual... After that we ran around town doing errands: brought Grandaddy some soup, took ebay stuff to the post office, used some free bucks at CVS...and I had to pick up some stuff for the Chili Challenge. (which might I add, is GREAT fun with a 3yo and a 16mo.old) One of these things was at Papa's work, so I called him and we got to visit with him awhile, and he got to show off his grandbabies. Nana watched the kids for an hour or so so I could go up to Hospice and get more goodies. Best part- Nick brought home Village Pizza so I didnt have to cook!

Wednesday was a special treat. It was supposed to rain all day, so Nick planned to stay home with the kids so Kate & I could drive to Huntsville to pick up more donations. Even though we just drove around all day, it was nice to get out of the house and Mommy mode for a few hours. We even treated ourselves to lunch for all of our hard work, AND got tickets to the circus next weekend. (Let me say that Nick and Ben are SO excited about this.)
side note:
We went to bible study last nite. Avery is a little sponge in class. She always comes home telling me the story, and she even remembers names. FOr those of you not on facebook, I posted the other day that she asked me if I had leprosy. lol
She told me this morning she was going to obey me alllll day like Jesus would want. I was so proud. Then she informed me that GOD wanted me to obey him and get her a strawberry milkshake.HA.
Then...My cousin Ali had her twins, and both are doing well-even at 6 weeks early. What a wonderful day!!

Today, Avery had school this morning and Davis and I have been running more errands and picking up stuff for this weekend. I am on about my fourth cup of caffeine since Davis wanted to wake up and play at 4 this morning! Aves has ballet this afternoon, then I will be home working on Chili Challenge all nite. I am so excited about the Sports booth. We have a lot of awesome stuff for the Silent auction. Everyone should come out and support Hospice!!!

Tomorrow, My sister-in-law Julie is being induced and I will be an aunt again. I am so excited. Please pray for Philip's safe arrival. I am meeting Lori for lunch with the babies to plan her 31 party, and my committee and I will decorate at the gym tomorrow, & go to an appreciation dinner. Then- Nick and I will get to see Keller Williams in concert.whoo-hoo

Saturday, I will be at the Chili Challenge all day, Avery & Davis will go to a birthday party, and Nick & I are going to a shower for Nathan & Angela that nite.

WHEW!!!This is going to be a week for the books! I wonder what I am going to do when I go back to "work!"

Look out LeBron...

So I guess Nick was inspired by all the NBA stuff this weekend...he decided to bring DayDay's goal in the house and tell him how to slam dunk. He only showed him once and Davis was slammin like a pro!

Just a Swingin'

I cannot tell you how much I love having a front porch swing now! As you can see, the kids love it too.

Valentine's Day 2009

Our Valentines Day was great!!! Thanks for everyone who made it so special.
Here are the kids with their stash... MawMaw brought them cards and candy, and they got several surprises in the mail...they especially loved the card from K & Ian and Nicole & Tyler.

Nana made some special cupcakes...

I took the kids to Walmart to pick out a toy. Davis picked a Car...

And Of course, Avery picked a Barbie.

Papa brought Avery a rose, which she loved. And of course she enjoyed the cheesecake cupcakes too.

That nite, we had dinner at Chez Williams. For appetizers, we had hummus and pita chips. Nick grilled steak and we had salad, bread, and baked potatoes. I made some chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Who needs to go out?!?! It was much easier to eat VAlentines dinner in my pj's!!! Nick got me a beautiful necklace and also went shopping for the kids. They got two cute outfits from Gymboree. I was very impressed Nick/Daddy.

Happy Valentines Day to my sweeties. I love you all!!!

DAVIS!!!

If he wasn't so stinkin cute I would be pulling my hair out!!!
This child is wilder, more destructive, and more daring than Avery ever thought about being!!! He is so sweet and loving thought, which saves him. This morning he woke up at 4:30 a.m., ready to play. And eat peanut butter pretzels. I finally got him back to sleep about 6, in the bed with us of course. Four deep in there folks. It's not pretty.
He loves to climb, pull all the books of the shelf, push anything up to the counter to get what he wants, throw things in the toilet, rip up the newspaper....and that is all in less than 24 hours!!! He has started hitting, which isn't good-but other than that he isn't mean or bad...just ALL BOY.
Such a far fetch from my little prissy- but I love it. I've said a million times- Davis wears me out physically, but Avery drains me mentally. Prime example: they were playing outside the other day and both scraped their foot on the steps. Avery jumped around, whined, and carried on all day about it. I never would have known Davis even hurt his foot if he hadn't been bleeding profusely....
Of course I wouldn't have it any other way!

Pass it on

Leanne & Ashley had this on her blog and I thought it sounded like so much fun. So this is how it works..... The first 3 people to leave a comment on this will receive a gift from me during this year. When and what will be a surprise.

There's a small catch...You knew there would be didn't you? Post this on your blog then come back and leave a comment, telling me you're in. Fun, huh? Remember, only the first 3 comments receive the gift.

Pass it on and Pay it forward!!!

Happy Birthday Daddy

Today is my Dad's birthday. I thought today, instead of sharing something myself, I would post some things people have written to me about my Dad. I will let you guys do the talking. Enjoy.

From my Fall post:

What a beautiful tribute to your Dad.

I started tearing up from the first few lines and then it just flowed all the way through. Thanks for sharing this.

Be especially grateful you've written these thoughts down.

Love You!

PS-that country song you referred to needs to be taken OFF the radio...because it's way to sad/sweet and I've almost wrecked over it. ;)

Thanks for sharing all those thoughts about your dad. It makes me realize some things I need to appreciate more in my own dad.

Lacy, I know this is a difficult time for you, and I apologize for being so self-absorbed in my own self-pity that I haven't really focused on the needs of you, my friend. But, you are always in my thoughts and prayers, and I am so blessed to have you as part of my life. Your parents did such a wonderful job raising such loving, friendly girls . . . like you said in the card you sent me after my grandfather's death, I know your dad and my grandfather are looking down from Heaven commenting on how proud they are of us. Your dad is, no doubt in my mind, bragging about you and your kids to everybody up there. And, he has come to know Davis, maybe in a deeper way than even you know him. You know how babies have those little spontaneous smiles? Well, to me, they are smiling at angels - like your dad. I love ya, girl; and I'm only a phone call away (no matter where you are).

I hope one day that someone says things about me that are half that noble. WOW! What a great man!

You are in my thoughts and my prayers. I completely understand what you are feeling. My father passed away almost five years ago, and there are still certain times of the year that bring back so many emotions. I wish my father had lived to see my son too. My father thought an awful lot of your father. They both loved the schools they worked in for so many years. Even years after he left Tanner for the central office, my dad still played the piano every spring at graduation. You are so strong to be able to put your emotions out there for others to share.

Very nice, Lacy. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I couldn't agree with your description of your Dad more! I loved working for your Dad. I appreciate all he did for me. I remember one time being in his office and having to make a big job decision and being upset and he talked with me and encouraged me. I am such a sensitive person and I think he knew what people needed and he gave it to them. I needed someone to listen and guide me and he did that. He said "Lori, I'm going to tell you just like I'd tell one of my own girls"...and from that statement I knew he cared about me and my future. I admired him so much and I will never forget him!

My heart breaks for you girl. There is nothing like the bond between a father and daughter and I cannot imagine the loss you must still feel on a daily basis. You babies will know your Dad through you in the stories, pictures, and memories you share with them. I bet he is so proud of the woman you are!

You are 100 per cent right about your dad...I miss him and know how much he loved Elkmont and his girls.
He was one of a kind.

From his birthday post

Oh, Lacy. My heart is breaking just reading this. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you! But, please know that we're here for you if you need anything. I love you, girl!

very sweet and precious. i know how you feel and share the heartache, but know that he is seeing avery and davis and perhaps is one of their angels. we don't know these things or understand them, but we will someday. love you.

This was beautiful! Your dad is more with you then you'll ever fully realize. And I'm positive he's smiling down with pride at the wonderful mother his daughter has become.

God bless you & all of the precious memories you have of your daddy. I truly do understand how you feel.

I am thinking about you today and said a little prayer for you this morning, I can't imagine what it is like for you. I am here for you, whatever you need.

Reading this makes me think of my own Dad, who pulled us behind the truck in the snow, hugged me when I got my diploma (he was on the ABS board then) and is a bit of a tightwad, too! I can't imagine not being able to just pick up the phone and call him, and it's hard for me to imagine what you, your mom, Leigh and Ivy have gone through at such a young age. I see how much joy my Dad gets from playing with all his grandkids and watching their antics, and I know your Dad is smiling down on Davis, too - and laughing at Avery's fashion sense! He sees and loves you all still.

Lacy, I was just checking your web and saw you and your Dad's picture.
Oh how I wish he could be here with ya'll. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of him and how much he loved ya'll.
God called him home before we were ready but he has him in his care.
I'm thinking of ya'll.

Just a day early, wasn't sure if you knew. But none the less, our feelings are still the same. This made me cry, probably because I hold a lot inside about him. I miss him so much too, and wish everyday he could be here to enjoy life and his grandchildren. I hope he is watching us and protecting us. I'd like to think he is.

Lacy, Thank you for saying those
things about papa.I hope he is watching down on us. He would be so proud of all you. And he would love Riley, Avery and Davis. I miss him so much. I wish everyday we had just one more day with him.
Thanks for giving me Avery and Davis. They are my life. Without
them I would have never made it these past year and a half.

Lacy~
Loved the tribute to your daddy...i remember him quite well. I can't even imagine..I'm one of those daddy's girls too. and WOW--Didn't realize how much Davis looks like your daddy until the pics you just posted..He is definately looking down on you girls..and I know he is so proud of all of you!

Ali said...
I know ya'll miss him more and more everyday, I know I do. I like to think Uncle Steve is looking down on us and getting a good laugh. He is probably thinking in his head of a better way for us to be doing everything :)
We love and miss all of you!

Oh, Lacy. This made me cry. I think so much of him. He is one of the best. Thinking of you today.

Lacy~ Your words were so wonderful about your dad, it brought tears to my eyes. I am sure he is with you and your children everyday. Always remember a little of your dad is in your children.

lacy, i cried when i saw steve's pic. i will never understand never. i had him longer than you did and i miss him so so much. when i think of him i picture him smiling, which he did a lot. he was the anchor for us 7 the voice of reasoning. so many good childhood memories. i would like to think he and aunt martha are on the same cloud somewhere i know they are laughing and smiling smiling down on those precious babies. don't ever let those babies not know who these two are and uncle ben too, show them pictures tell them stories don't let these babies miss knowing these wonderful people. they played such a special place in my life and heart, i can't imagine my life without them having been in it. love to all..

"Lacy,
I loved your Dad the summer I graduated I worked at the school and he was so funny. Not the pricipal type at all. So to him happy birthday and to you I will pray today you have fond memories."

Jonah: Avery version

Avery was reading Davis a bible story and of course, I was eavesdropping.....

" Davis sit down and let's read a story about God. This story is about Jonah and the big fish. God told Jonah to go to the city and he disobeyed. So the fish swallowed him. He prayed and the fish spat him out. Then he went to NIN-E-Vanezzar like God said."

hiatus

Well, I haven't blogged in a week. That must be some kind of record for me! To sum up last week, it went a little something like this:
1. Avery sick- cold & crud symptoms
2. Avery gets better, Davis gets sick
3. Take Davis to doc, he and Mommy catch a virus
4. Daddy catches virus
5. Davis over virus, Mommy still sick...

You get the idea. Us and every household around here (it seems like) have passed around this junk for almost two weeks. Now I find out I have mono. No joke. The doctor walked in and said, "You're not gonna believe this...."
Visions of pregnancy-morning sickness, fatigue,an all over gross feeling-flashed before my eyes. That would explain a lot...
My heart started beating really fast.
But then she said, "You have mono."
I almost laughed. Until she informed me the symptoms last four weeks. FOUR WEEKS!!! What in the world am I supposed to do with two little ones when I can't get off the couch?!?!
She had little sympathy for me, just told me to rest, get plenty of fuids, don't overdo it...
yadda-yada...
OH, and don't drink after anybody or kiss them. ha very funny. The good news, if there is any, is that I have alreadey felt bad for two weeks almost, so Im hoping Ive had mono all along, and that it won't be much longer till I feel better.

So my hiatus will probably continue, basically because its pretty boring around here. Thank goodness for my i-phone, Im not completely cut off from the world.

Date nite

Saturday, Nick took Avery to her first hockey game. They met up with Alex, Laura, and "Uncle" Burl at Buffalo Wild Wings, then headed over to watch the Havoc. She seemed to have a wonderful time, even though she kept calling it a "coffee" game. She also informed me that Daddy did not put a bow or ponytail in her hair. lol
I noticed it in the pictures but I wasn't going to mention it....Nick also said she was fussing at him on the way saying-you didn't get my hairbow !
(In my defense, I laid out clothes for her to wear and then DayDay and I went to dinner...)

Avery said she had fun playing with James and was wondering where the cheerleaders were. Maybe I can get Nick to write a more detailed post, but I just thought it was sweet that they got to do something together. We are all planning on going in a couple of weeks- can't wait to see what DayDay thinks about it.

Reconnect

Friday nite, some of the girls from my High School got together for a GIrls nite out. I came from the class of 96 and we had from 93- on... We had a great time catching up, reminiscing about old times, and sharing funny stories about our lives now. Thanks girls,(especially Leigh B for hosting) can't wait to go it again!!

Girls nite

Last week, I had to go to the apple store to get my phone fixed. Avery begged to go, so we turned it into a little girls nite. (She kept saying Girls nite!Girls nite! in the car on the way over) It was getting cold and I was ready to get home quickly after the phone session, but-much like her Mommy-Avery loves a bargain. She spotted Gymboree and wanted to go check out the sale.
She picked out this dress, with hairbows to match, and some pjs. We had a fun time together- I love having a girl!! We sang Mamma Mia all the way to Hunts-a-Bill as she calls it. We also got some dippin dots, chicken fingrs, and fries. What a fun nite with my favorite girl.
