The Beach!!!

Avery & Davis absolutely loved the beach. It was SO wonderful to be able to walk out our door and right onto the sand. Tybee was not crowded at all, and we had the beach to ourselves until the Labor Day crowd came.
Avery spent most of her time making new friends....one day she even had a slumber party planned with a little girl, whose name she did not know. The rest of the time, she played in the sand, looked for shells, & built sandcastles with Daddy. She was scared of the water at first, but by the end of the week she was running out into the waves by herself. Avery & Daddy rode the waves often, and she and I spent our afternoons finding starfish and throwing them back in the ocean. We couldn't find any sand dollars, but one nice couple had a few extras and gave us some.
Davis spent most of his time eating sand. No seriously, he loved the ocean, even more than the sand. Don't hire him as a fisherman-everytime he got tired or fussy, we would walk him out into the waves, and he would fall asleep. It was so cute. He loved crawling all over the soft parts of sand, and I think balancing in all of that made him more sure-footed. When we would get back to the house, he would walk everywhere. The sun wore him out, so Mommy spent alot of time holding him (nice for bonding, not so nice for my back...) This allowed alot of Daddy-daughter time too...I think Avery is fastly becoming a Daddy's girl after this trip.
